Daily Ramblings - Puerto Vallarta Mexico - November 11, 2009

Tom and Molly arrived at Puerto Vallarta to the welcoming arms of Aspen friends, Lee and Joanne Lyon.  Lee and Joanne have enjoyed their villa facing the blue Pacific for over 20 years.  What a treat to get to share in their surroundings and experience a night in their home – not only for the great company and delightful conversations, but magnificent food prepared by their chef, Estella.

Captain Walter and our new and regular crew had the boat all spiffed up and ready for us.  We parked in the old marina close to town. Clint is our new engineer – always smiling – he can fix anything!  Tyler joined us in LA as our deck hand – this is his first boating experience.   Jules has taken charge as our First Stewardess...she and Clint came as a couple – what a find.  And Kim also boarded in LA for her first experience as our Third Stewardess.  Jeremy, Steve, Dean, and Emma continue to spoil us with their smiles and incredible attention to every detail.  We have a wonderful team under the direction or our amazing Captain Walter Rowan!

On November 12th we were thrilled to greet Kirk and Pat Watson at the airport.  They were previous guests in Tahiti during our first week of entertaining in the South Pacific last year.  We are honored they would give us another week of their time to share Puerto Vallarta.

And on November 13th Andy Model and Rebecca Doane came aboard.  Andy and Rebecca spent a week with us in Tonga last year.  They were married September 5th and we invited them to do a bit of honeymooning aboard Major Wager.

One good day of fishing resulted in several beautiful Mahi Mahi (also called Dorado and Dolphin).  Dean prepared them to perfection. The water is bathwater temperature and clean.  The snorkeling is so – so.  But at least it is a possibility!  As winter approaches in Aspen and Okoboji, we are thrilled with this ten day get-a-way to the sun, warm sea, great friends and much appreciated Mexican food!

We find ourselves absorbed in our new business, Two Old Hippies.  At home it is easy to spend the day in front of our computers, on the telephones and in meetings.  So this escape is giving us pause to refresh.

Our Bedell and Great Divide guitar websites are finally going live this week.  So the team back home is still hard at it while we are enjoying this escape.

It is November 17th and we are off for an ATV adventure in the jungle.

Cheers,
Molly and Tom
